Newer version of Word

Hello Forum:

I just purchased a newer version of Microsoft Office (2007 Home and school). After using the 2000 version for so long, there are many changes.

My problem is in formatting my paragraphs; I set it for single space and it double spaces anyway. I also tried checking "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" and it unchecks itself as soon as I click OK. Also, the envelope recipient address double spaces. How can I fix this, or, am I stuck with it?

This is stupid, but

After making all your selections in the format paragraph window, move your cursor to one that is correct and check to make sure everything is the way you want it.

Also, once you have everything the way you want it, save it as your template and (hopefully) you'll be able to start with what you want instead of what M$ thinks is cool.
