MS Outlook 2003, Setting up email, error msgs
Hi all -
Just starting with Outlook 2003, running under Vista. Set up an email account for my POP email (from my ISP Wildblue, who uses Google Gmail servers). Followed all the instructions to do configuration, and ran Test Account Settings. Got the following error messages on the test: * Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): the specified server was found but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct. To access these settings, close this dialog, then click More Settings and click on the Advanced tab. * Find incoming mail server (POP3): Outlook could not connect to the incoming mail server (POP3). The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSL. Verify your port and SSL settings in More Settings under the Advanced tab. However, all the settings on the configuration match everything the Help files say to do, including port and SSL info. I can still send emails, and at least most people get them, but SOMETIMES I get an error message during the Send process: " Sending reported error... 'The operation cannot be performed because the message has been changed.' " Plus sometimes a bcc person will get 3 copies of the email. Whew, any suggestions on what gives here? Thanks! Tom G |
