I'm trying to get rid of footnotes in an existing document. I've followed the advice about deleting the "marker" but, when I press 'delete', all it deletes is the marker itself - not the text. If I highlight the remaining text and try to delete it, it won't let me. Have I misunderstood what should be a simple operation?

Re: Deleting footnotes - Word 2003
Hi johngie,
Try the following: 1. Open the Find/Replace dialogue box (Ctrl-H) 2. Input ^f into the Find box 3. Click 'Replace All'
