problem with paging
Hi
I am using office 2007 and I am having problems with paging. I don't want to have page numbers in 1st and 2nd pages. They are left for Table of Contents. But I wanted my page numbering to start from document's page no. 3 as page 1 .. how do i do it ? |

Re: problem with paging
You'll need to insert a section break between the 2nd and 3rd pages. Then you'll be able to format your page number with "Continue from previous section" un-selected.
This will also allow you to use roman numerals for your table of contents, acknowledgements, white paper (summary), and any other prependicies. (Yes, it IS a word. google prependix if you don't believe me.)

Re: problem with paging
Hi latokosero,
You'll need to: 1. insert a 'Next Page' section break at the end of the 2nd page (Page Layout|Breaks|Next Page) 2. go to page 3 3. insert a page footer (Insert|Footer) 4. click the 'link to previous' button on the ribbon 5. insert a page number (Insert|Page Number|Current Position) 6. use Insert|Page Number|Format Page Numbers, check the 'start at' button and chhose '1' as the corresponding number. Choose whatever numer format you want also. 7. format the page # paragraph with whatever attributes you need (eg centre) 8. if you want a 'Page X of Y' format, type the 'Page ' and 'of ' either side of the page number field, then use Insert|Quick Parts|Field to insert a 'Sectionpages' field after the ' of '.
