Laugh Excel spreadsheet grabs data from another sheet?

Microsoft Office / Excel 2003

I am new here. There is a timecard system set up by a previous employee using Excel.

Two excel spreadsheets.

JOBS.xls
Timesheet.xlt

Timesheet.xlt is a template. It contains dropdown lists of jobs that are grabbed from JOBS.xls, apparently.

The system is broken, and Timesheet.xlt is not grabbing items from JOBS.xls properly anymore. The jobs in the list on Timesheet.xlt are old.

There are no macros in the list of macros. I don't know much about Excel, and I don't know how this works. I need to find out so I can fix the problem.

Re: Excel spreadsheet grabs data from another sheet?

G'day,

If you follow the link it has all the information you need in fixing the problem.

http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal05.html

Or it could be as simply updating the link between the two workbooks.

Let me know if you have any problems with it

Cheers
