Outlook SMTP Auth. will not stay checked
ISP for a small school changed mail servers so school had to change Outlook 2003 settings to Authenticate outgoing SMTP. Not a problem, we clicked the setting box to do that, BUT we have seen sporadic instances where the box is unchecked and smtp no longer authenticates which causes the email to bounce. The faculty there does not know how to change the settings, so they are not doing it. We have tried set for SMTP Auth and then tried all combinations of: close outlook, reopen, restart, log off, log on but we still see instances where an email bounces and we check the settings and SMTP is off! Any ideas would be appreciated.
