Groove 2007 Account Upgrade Unsuccessful

I was using Groove 3.1 and just purchased Groove 2007. In order to install 2007, I had to uninstall my previous versions of 3.1. When asked if I wanted to uninstall my user and system data, I clicked no. The installation was successful, however, when I tried to launch Groove I received the following message "Account Upgrade Unsuccessful, Reboot." I've rebooted and reinstalled the software several times. I'm clueless on what to do next! Has anyone ever encountered this and/or have an answer?

Re: Groove 2007 Account Upgrade Unsuccessful

Yes, we have 2 users so far of 40 in our org who had the same problem. Still looking for the cause of this. We got around it for now by having the user uninstall 2007 completely. Deleting all 3.1 Groove data out of local settings/application data then reinstalling 2007 brand new and creating a new account. Enter key in the beginning, then choose I don't have config code to continue install. Then had them get reinvited to workspaces.

Re: Groove 2007 Account Upgrade Unsuccessful

this was posted on another site. not sure if it's the error that we're seeing. I didn't see a prompt to create a new account, just says upgrade unsuccessful.

There is a KB support note about upgrading accounts. Check it here -
