Syncronising Contacts with a PDA in Outlook 2007

Hi, I have an O2 XDA Stellar device, (http://www.my-xda.com/devices/xda_stellar.jsp) and I have an issue when syncing with an XP computer. I would like to sync my contacts with my Outlook 2007, but when I first tried, (using "Microsoft Active Sync") it would sync all data apart from the contacts, and come up with an error message out a problem with the profile on Outlook. I re-installed the device on the computer, and now it just seems to skip syncing contacts, and no error message occurs.

It's attached via a USB cable, and I have ticked the "Contacts" box in the settings, but I'm not sure if I have to do anything at Outlook's end, but I'm not sure where to look.

Can anyone help please? Thanks very much in advance.

Re-installed both Office and the device numerous times, still no luck. Perhaps there is a way to send the contacts, rather than sync?

Not sure if this helps, but I remember when I had my Palm a few years ago, in the sync setting for the device, you had to specify what you wanted to sync: contacts, emails, appointments, etc and tell it how you wanted it to sync (from device only, from PC only, or update both).
