Corrupt .pst
So i exported a .pst file from outlook 2003, then burned it on a cd, then ran a clean install and when I went to re configure outlook 2003 it will not load the old .pst in. It is coming up with the error backup.pst cannot be loaded it is not a personal files folder. I tried running a scanpst.exe and used easyrecovery repair no luck. Please tell me i did not loose her information and emails!!!!!

Re: Corrupt .pst
I'm assuming you're using Windows XP...
There's a lot of things that could be wrong. When moved to the desktop from the CD, does it show the proper icon for a pst file? |

Re: Corrupt .pst
So after the reinstalltion, you went to file -> open -> outlook data file ? right ?
Usually when pst are burned on a cd and pasted on a hard drive's machine again, it becomes read-only. outlook won't open it. First right-click on the pst -> properties -> untick "read-only". try to add it again in OL |

Re: Corrupt .pst
Hello,
you have not answered cleffer question... What if it's not a pst-related issue ... have you tried the same pst on another machine ? How big is the pst ? was/is it saved on a local/network drive. Permission on the pst file ?# "scanpst no luck". Does it mean it went through the process and found no error or does it mean scanpst does not recognised the pst neither ?? |

Re: Corrupt .pst
Before burning it on CD, did you verify that outlook could read and load the PST file? Perhaps, the export was corrupted in some fashion to begin with.

Re: Corrupt .pst
That program costs $249, probably not something they want since they came here for free support...
