.pst file

I have MS Outlook 2000. I was moving emails to a folder and it locked up. The screen blinked once and all of my contact and saved email has disappeared. I looked on Microsoft’s website to see if I could find out how to recover the file. I followed the directions they gave and used the InBox Repair Tool. It runs all the way to the end and says… “AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED WHICH CAUSED THE SCAN TO BE STOPPED. NOT CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE” I’ve tried this a few times. I also found information about PST2GB Oversized PST Recovery Utility. I also ran this and it did work successfully and it removed 25MGs each time I did it. I also tried to run the scanpst.exe again it came up with the same error. I’m set up on the archive option as well so that the file would never exceed 2 GB. When I try to open any of the .pst files it says… PROPERTIES FOR THEI INFORMATION SERVICE MUST BE DEFINED PRIOR TO USE. It then tells you to run the InBox Repair Tool. Does anyone have any idea how to fix/recover my pst file? Thanks for the help.

Re: .pst file

I'm having the same exact problem. I hired an online company that said they repair computer and email software issues called ITOK. They were unable to help, I was told that upgrading to Office 2003 would fix it because of the newly integrated file management system but they couldn't get that to work either. Still looking for a fix, can anyone help???

Re: .pst file

Hello LRHII and welcome to TSF!

You may try downloading the trial version of Office Pro 2007 (good for 60 days) and upgrade your Outlook 2000 so that you maybe able to recover your corrupt .pst file.

I hope this helps

Re: .pst file

Thanks, that's why I downloaded the trial version of office 2003 because of the file management system but that didn't work. Do you think 2007 has more mojo??
