MS Office deployment through AD
Hi All,
My manger is away and has left me with the lovely task of rolling out MS office 2007. Although I am only a trainee(so please speak slowly ) I have created a deployment of MS office 2003 about 2months ago so i know the general bits and pieces of it....Upon finding out some Info about MS Office 2007, Am I right in thinking that it is no longer possible to deploy office 07 to computers using group policy in the active directory? Although I then read a conflicting post saying that it is still possible but not possible to service pack the deployment. If anyone know's of a guide at all or anything it would be much appreicated. the infomation I found on technet only talks about deploying using group policy software (not with active directory) Thanks in advance |

Re: MS Office deployment through AD
I cant find the link sorry. Its something to do with no transformer files for deployment anymore. which stops you from using the extracted service pack as a .msp file.....
Or that was the general jist of it. |

Re: MS Office deployment through AD
I finally got 2007 to deploy by running a command in 'Run'
now, it appears to install, then uninstall in the same motion. I'm using a .msp but contain a untouched .xml file in the command. removing the config.xml file from the command line makes no difference. for example in the event log in will say Installation for Microsoft Office Powerpoint MUI succeeded, Then about 30seconds later a new log will appear saying that it was succesfully removed. |
