My System

Help me remove MS Office 97 Please.

I recently built a computer and installed an old version of MS Office 97 on it. Now I've purchased "MS Office 2007 Enterprise" and would like to completely un-install Office 97 before attempting the install of my new Office 2007 Enterprise.

But, everytime I go to the Control Panel and "Add/Remove Programs" and hit the remove button to remove Office 97, I'm told to insert the Office 97 disk. When I do this, all I get are a bunch of icons on a new page which makes no sense at all to me.....and none of the icons say anything about removing or un-installing Office 97.

Could someone in the know please tell me how to get MS Office 97 off of my new computer so I can install my new MS Office 2007 Enterprise?

I'm running Windows XP Home with SP2 if it matters. Thanks to all.

Can you use the upgrade option on Enterprise?

Re: Help me remove MS Office 97 Please.

Uninstall the last service pack (or 2) that you had installed then try uninstalling the program.

If that doesn't work, I would also suggest an uninstaller app:
Advanced Uninstaller Pro 9.4: http://www.download.com/Advanced-Uni...dlPid=10867293
Revo Uninstaller: http://www.revouninstaller.com/

biz_kid1, Revo Uninstaller doesn't even "see" Office 97....and I'm thinking if Revo can't, then the others can't see it either.
