Outlook Express
Pardon me folk if I am in the wrong category but I saw no section for OE questions; I am unable to send myself an email using OE though if I try it appears in the "Sent" folder but does not arrive in the "In" box. I have a Hotmail email address from which I can send an email to my OE account and it arrives ok so I would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me as to the cause & how to rectify it. Regards Kidron.

Re: Outlook Express
I just tried to e-mail myself also using OE 2003, and sure enough, I never received it either.
Maybe this was disabled? I'm honestly not sure. Why do you need to e-mail yourself anyways? |

Re: Outlook Express
Welcome to TSF....
I would check on the provider site for the settings for your particular email package example outlook express and then when you have these written down I would open outlook express and make sure they servers settings for incomming and outgoing mail are set correctly. I just tried sending myself an email and I got it back and it only took three seconds for it to get back.

Re: Outlook Express
Nevermind, I just got mine. So I would do what ThorXP suggested.
Also, I believe this should go in the Microsoft Office forum, as OE is part of the Microsoft Office family. |

Re: Outlook Express
Thanks guys..... re: - Coolfreak.... sending an email to ones self is sometimes handy when sending or forwarding an email to numerous people, by putting ones own address in the "Send" field and the rest in the "Bcc" means only my own address is visible for all to see, there again it sometimes is handy when testing the system..... ThorXP....pleas be a little more specific....I mean give me the step by step moves to make to get to the setting in question..... rather old and slow I'm afraid when it comes to this hi-tech stuff. Remember I grew up when the ABACUS was the norm... :-( Thanx Kidron.

Re: Outlook Express
What e-mail service do you use? Go to their site and get all the settings information to forward your mail to OE.
For example, I use Gmail. I had to go to their site, and use the settings they told me too, to set up my e-mail correctly. Does that help at all? |

Re: Outlook Express
Maybe I should say thanks to you all and draw this thread to an abrupt end by saying, despite having checked the "Blocked" senders list before (which is the obvious 1st thing to do) I failed to see my own email address but on checking it again yesterday, I saw it lurking there so promptly deleted it and of course - as expected- that did the trick. Having been experimenting with learning how to make URL's & email addresses into live links in emails, it has been a great advantage to be able to send testers to myself rather than bother others besides, it lets me see instantly if they said intended links are blued out which indicate they are click-able from the email. Cheers all Kidron.
