Outlook 2007 seems partly hung
Windows XP, SP3. I start Outlook, and it appears to come up normally, except: (1) The preview pane never gets populated. (2) It doesn't do the automatic send/receive that normally happens on startup. (3) A manual send-receive hangs. (4) Task Manager shows that there are two Outlook processes, one large (100+ megabytes) and one small (about 3 megabytes). (5) The large Outlook process is running constantly, consuming substantial CPU time.
It comes up in Safe Mode just fine. Any thoughts? I suppose it is possible that it is just doing something that takes a long time, such as indexing my huge pile of email, but I wonder if anyone else has encountered a similar problem. |
