Word 2007 closedown
If I have a number of Word documents open when I close the last one Word shuts down. If I do the same thing in Excel the Excel progranme stays open and I can start a new spreadsheet.
Its annoying in Word that I close the last document but then have to reopen Word again to start a new document I've got "show all windows in taskbar" turned on because I like it that way Any suggestions? Thanks in advance |

Re: Word 2007 closedown
Word opens each new document in its own window, but Excel's default is one window holding many spreadsheets. I doubt it's possible to maintain a blank Word window the way Excel keeps an empty window open.
There might be a setting that lets you keep MS Office on "standby" with an icon in the quick-launch section for Word. If so, that should reduce the time it takes for Word to re-open.
