Outlook distribution list error

I am using Outlook 2003. I have created some distribution lists and when I try to send them as multiples I get an error message saying there is a 'Word' problem and cannot proceed. If I send the message to one group only this doesn't occur. In the 4 groups there are 170 contacts but no group has more than 50 contacts in it. My OS is XP.

what is the full error message?

Not sure at present as haven't got access to PC until Monday. Was hoping to go in and sort it. It says it can't send message due to a 'Word' error. I will wait till I get to PC to reply exactly if this is not a common error. Sorry to mess you about but will come back to this thread with right answer.
