Loading Office on new computer

Every time I try to load from the disc it stops and tells me that a file , M4561403.CAB is missing. I've cleaned the disc well and even tried to save the disc to my hdd and load from there but it keeps telling me that file is missing. Does anyone know what this is all about? I didn't really want to break down and purchase 2007.

Re: Loading Office on new computer

It's a copy and the original has long been lost. I tried cleaning the disc and also trying to save it to my hdd but both did not work. It's missing a CAB file. Whatever that is.

Re: Loading Office on new computer

sounds like you have a bad copy of office. Your only other option is to contact microsoft and get a replacement copy of office.

Re: Loading Office on new computer

I got it. I made the installation work through another hdd I had that already has it installed. It must have found whatever file it needed on another drive. Thanks anyway.... That was close.. My whole business is on Word..
