Changing document properties-en masse

I would like to edit the properties on some of my documents without, if possible, opening and editing each document 1 by 1. (I have about 100 documents to edit)

Specifically I would like to change author information. At the time of creation these documents were saved under user profile "User" and not in my name. I personally would like to be acknowledged as the author of these docs’s and have this information inserted into the document properties.

Is there a way to apply these changes to a folder or group of documents en masse?

These two programs should allow you to edit the metadata of several word documents at the same time :
