Auto update footer in Doc file

hi ,
i wana update my word file date in footer while save the document .plz help.it's urgent .

While in the footer of the document, click INSERT>DATE/TIME and when the dialog box comes up select the format you want and then make sure you put a check in the box that says "Update Automatically". You don't have that option if you use the insert date button from the toolbar, it's only there when you use the insert option from the menu.
