I lost Symbols from the Insert Menu in Word 2002
I was attempting to insert em-dashes in a Word document and noticed a shortcut: Alt,Ctrl,Num. Not knowing what "Num" meant, I pressed Alt,Ctrl, Hyphen and now "symbols" has disappeared completely from the Insert Menu.
I got information from the internet that said to do the following: 1. Right click on any menu at the top of the Word window. 2. Select Customize at the bottom. 3. Click the Commands tab. 4. Select Insert in the Categories list box. 5. In the Commands list box (the right-hand one), find and drag and drop "Symbol" up to the Insert menu item, then down to where you want it to fit. 6. The Instructions said to click OK and Symbols would be restored. Problem -- there is no OK to click on – I still don’t have Symbols. What should I do next to get it back?
