[SOLVED] Software to share Outlook Calendar without Exchange Server
I have a small network in my office and would like to be able to share Outlook Calendar within the office for primary purpose of identifying where people are or appts made in the event that staff member was unable to work for a period of time.
I don't have Exchange Server - don't want it. Calendars are the only product I need to have shared. We use "industry specific" software for almost all other functions. That program does use MS Office /Word/Excel and we have MAPI email. I just want to share a calendar without a huge expense or a lot of work installing it and setting it up. Is there any such item available that anyone is using successfully? ![]() We are using MS OFFICE 2003. Thanks. Last edited by ComputerQueen : 05-01-2008 at 08:53 PM. |

Re: Software to share Outlook Calendar without Exchange Server
I am using a program called Workgroup Share by Softalk. it allows you to share calendars, tasks, etc.. and set permissions. It can operate on a SQL or JET database and you pay by number of clients. I have an office with 5 clients. The admin end of the program is easy to use;however, I have had problems with the clients OUtlook crashing when the program begins. Good luck!

Re: Software to share Outlook Calendar without Exchange Server
I ended up NOT purchasing a program. I didn't want to pay $85 - $100 per license. I ended up creating an Excel spreadsheet with seven colums of which three columns had drop down boxes - one for the Month and date, one for the Hour, and one for Minutes (in 15 min increments AM and PM). I Put in the headings and then I locked the heading row and the 1st "usable" row - in the event anyone messes up the other cells (shouldn't happen but things do happen!) I don't have to recreate the Wheel Again. I can just unlock my 1st row and copy it back on the rest of the spreadsheet! Worksheet for each month - each tab has a Month and each tab is a different color.
