Excel help req'd - sumif but choose column?
Hi
I need some help in Excel 2007 with sumif. Imagine a fairly simple table as below: b 4 a 3 b 5 b 2 c 1 a 8 c 9 I can run a sumif of all the "b"s to get a total of 11. However, in my example, say that the column of numbers is labelled "March 2008". Each month I get a new column of data - next month I'll have "April 2008" column of new numbers. I don't want to re-write the sumif each month - I want it to look up the date across the top and THEN look at the sumif of that particular column, based on the fixed set of letters in the first column. Any ideas? |
