Outlook - can't send/receive

I have Outlook 2007, it won't send send/receive, i get the following message, (0x80040900) 'The server name you entered cannot be found on the network(it might be down temporarily)'

Outlook Express works fine with the same settings

If i go to Mail in control panel, go to the account and click test account settings, it works fine.

It's a pop3 account.

Please can you help

Re: Outlook - can't send/receive

Are your pop3 and smtp settings right?
What ISP are you with.
your pop3
should be like this say tour email address is punani@windowslive.com
your pop3 will be
pop3.windowslive.com
and your smtp
should be smtp.windowslive.com

Re: Outlook - can't send/receive

All my settings are fine, smtp and pop3 are correct. I know this because Outlook Express is able to send and receive emails with the same pop3 & smtp. Also when I test the account setting in mail/control panel it works. It doesn't work when I do the test within Outlook 2007.

I've seen the same problem posted on other forums, but no one had a solution that worked.
