Office 2000 File Association Oddity
I use Office 2000. I will speak here as if this is a Word problem, but it is exactly the same with both Word and Excel.
As of last week, if I click on it a Word file, I get a box with "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 Premium. Gathering required information." The progress bar indicates that something is being gathered (from where, I don't know), and Word soon starts but doesn't open the file. Within Word itself, if I click File, then Open, then navigate to a Word file and click its name, Word opens the file normally. I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000, but the symptom is the same. This may be coincident with a full Defrag that I ran last week. Last edited by etopro; 04-07-2008 at 09:19 AM. |
