"Transfer" MS Office between laptops

Hi,

I had purchased and installed MS Office on my VAIO laptop when I broke the screen. I immediately bought the very same laptop as a replacement, but the version of MS Office on the new VAIO was obviously only a trial version and after a couple of months I am unable to edit documents or spreadsheets.

My query was whether there is anyway to "transfer" my purchased copy of MS Office from my old laptop to the new one, since I had only been using it for a year or so when I broke the first VAIO. Not sure if this is technically possible or even if it infringes on any licensing laws, but it seems odd to have to purchase something a second time just because something else (IE the screen on my older VAIO) is broken.

Many thanks,

Christian

Re: "Transfer" MS Office between laptops

Assuming you have the same version of Office, you should be able to enter your existing license code in the trialware to fully activate it.

Otherwise simply reinstall using the installation media and the license key. If you're missing the media, contact Microsoft Fulfillment. Media kits may generally be purchased for $20, plus applicable tax and shipping.
