Could we make one particular worksheet read-only, in the group of 31 sheet in the same file? Regards, Anirudh |

Re: Excel Workhseet
I clicked on Excel Help and entered, "lock cells" in the search box. the first entry was, "Protect worksheet or workbook elements"
I think that might help you.

Re: Excel Workhseet
Hi Anirudh,
Is Nik01 said, you can do it but in all version of excel starting from 2000. Just go into Tools > Protection. When you would ever face any issues, please tell me here of via a PM. Kind regards, Stumpy |

Re: Excel Workhseet
Hi All,
Thanks for ur suggestions, however my query is not been solved yet, Because I don't want to protect the sheet, I want to make that single sheet read only in the set of 31 odd sheet in the same file.So that all the other users can access the sheet but they can't edit. Hi Nik01, You have mentioned it (that above mentioned task) is possible in MS Excel 2007, is it true? Kind Regards, Anirudh |

Re: Excel Workhseet
The advice already posted will protect the sheet from any editing. Is this not what you are trying to achieve?

Re: Excel Workhseet
Hi
Anirudh In 2007, click on the sheet that requires to be protected then click the 'Review' Tab. Next go to the 'Changes' section and click 'Protect Sheet' and enter a passcode, you will then be asked to confirm it. This will be for the sheet only, the rest of the work book will remain open to other users to edit. |
