Keeping old emails & attachments with dates

Using Office 2003 and am close to upgrading systems. I have a lot of business emails on this system that I would like to keep and place on the new computer. I know how to export the emails I have but doing so causes you toi lose the attachments and the dates the emails were sent to you. This information is critical to me.
Does anyone know of an easy way to transfer these files from my old system to my new system that won't take weeks of working sending myself emails?
Thanks!

Re: Keeping old emails & attachments with dates

Manually take the PST file from the old computer to the new computer. You can find the PST file in this location C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

You will have to go to view folder options and set "Show hidden Files & Folders".

I have upgraded this way many times and have had no problems.

You will need to import the PST file to your new version of Outlook.

Re: Keeping old emails & attachments with dates

Just import that file and all the emails and attachments and dates will transfer to the new system?
Sounds almost too easy!
Thanks for the help!
