Post ms works 4.5

I recently took a hit when I exited from Ms Works (don't remember error message) but now all my Works files have the windows logo on them instead of the proper Works logo. How can I get the correct logo back?
I have had to open the files by holding the shift key and picking open with ms works. Even if I make a new file the logo is still the windows logo.
