Conditional Formatting with Conditional Numerical Formatting?
I've searched and searched and can't find a solution. Here is my delimma:
I have 4 columns of data. A: List Price B: Sale Price C: $ saved (A-B) D: % saved 1-B/A $100.00 $75.00 $25.00 25% What I need to do is add a 5th column that will show either the % saved or $ saved based on a set of rules. Basically, if the savings are under 35%, I want to show the % savings. If savings are over 25% AND over $50 Sale Price, I want to show the $ saved. If savings are over 35% but under the sale price then I want to show the % saved. The IF statement I have works fine: =IF(D4<0.25,D4,IF(B4<50,D4,C4)) So the column will either display the $ savings or the % savings result. Is it possible to have the numerical format match the referenced cell? So column E would be a column of either % format or Number format. Right now the whole column is number format and it is tough to tell the difference between what is a number and what is a percentage. Thanks in advance. |
