i suspect, because i'm lucky that way, that it will turn out to be my symantec antivirus, or some other such software that is blocking outlook from sending. is there no solution? do we have to choose between protecting our PCs or using outlook? what is the anti-virus software that outlook will work with?

I and a lot of my TSF colleagues use AVG free .. doesn't tend to be so heavy as Norton .. uses less resources and we feel happier with the way it runs on our 'puters

I'm no pro . but i had the same problem and I checked on this site http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...647201033.aspx
Itried to check for updates and it told me to use explorer not mozilla firefox when I changed it asked to install a .dll file for activex and my outlook just started working rightaway so goodluck
