normal.dot screwed up

Hey, I've mistakenly saved over normal.dot is there a way to reset it to default? I've tried deleting it but that doesn't seem to want to work.

Thanks.

Re: normal.dot screwed up

what version of office? What exactly is the problem you are having - give any error messages?. Deleting the normal.dot file will take you back to default so something else could be the problem.

Re: normal.dot screwed up

- Microsoft Office Word 2003
- When I hit the space bar it puts a period in instead of a space. Also every time I hit enter it puts this weird character at the end of the line.
- No error messages.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

Re: normal.dot screwed up

sorry, I have been out of action for a couple of days because of my workload. When working 12 hours a day with almost a 3 hour commute round trip, it kind of limits my internet time.

Glad you were able to figure this out and thanks for letting us know the solution.
