Office XP Opens Files Very Slowly

I'm having a problem with Office XP. All programs (Excel, Outlook, etc) seem to be running normal, but when I go to open a file for the first time, it take around 1 min for the open file window to pop up. After the first time I open a file, if I go to open another one, there is no problem and the open file window pops up instantly. This happens every time I start the program, any suggestions?

try clicking on help, then detect and repair. you may need your office xp cd.

Also try deleting the files in your windows temporary folder

Or see if antivirus programs are scanning Office.
