A friend of mine recently asked for help. It seems that after incorrectly installing Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard, MS Word 2002 stopped working. She reinstalled Office 2002 but this didn't seem to correct the problem. Has anyone else hit this problem and if so, could you fill me in on what to do about it. By the way - - - I did uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8.0 and try reinstalling MS Office 2002 my self but I didn't have anymore success than she did.

Re: MS Office 2002 Problem
Could you be more specific about what stopped working? Would it open at all? How was it "incorrectly" installed? One thing you could do is download adobe 8.1 (instead of 8.0) and see how that is. You could also try downloading the Office 2007 trial and see how that works. Maybe you could scan for errors, invalid registry entries, or anything else, I don't know. Another option, of course, is to just use OpenOffice.org, which is very similar to MS Office 2002, and completely free. No need for Microsoft, right?
