Microsoft Outlook Runtime Error
I recently installed Adobe reader and Adobe acrobat 8 on my computer and now microsoft outlook will not work. ( I also have been using Adobe CS3 with no problems) When I try to open Outlook, I get this error: "Microsoft Visual C++ This program has terminated in an unusual way". When I click ok, the program just closes. I read somewhere that if you try it a second time you dont' get the message, but this is not the case. Also I tried uninstalling adobe reader but my computer can't even find Adobe acrobat to uninstall it! I need both programs and I do not have the original Outlook 2000 disc and don't want to install Office 2003 if I can help it. I use Mozilla and AVG with no problems. It seems related to Acrobat or Reader.

Re: Microsoft Outlook Runtime Error
Hi and welcome to TSF.
Try uninstalling Acrobat using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, available from here. When you've downloaded and installed it, go to C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up and run the file msicuu.exe. Look in the box to see if Adobe Reader 8.0 is listed and if so select it and press the Remove button. If Outlook now works OK, reinstall Acrobat.
