Embedded or linked?
I recently put together a power point presentation and copied it to a flash drive, however, the sound did not come across with it. From doing some research (I'm a newbie to the computer world), I found that I needed to increase the "link sounds with greater than", which I did.
My question is: is there a way to tell if the sound is in fact embedded rather than linked, other than copying the power point onto the flash drive and trying to run it on another computer. The person I made it for has the flash drive, (with no sound), and I'd like to check that it will work before I get the flash drive back and recopy it. Thanks for your help, klk |

Re: Embedded or linked?
By default, sounds are automatically linked to your file, rather than embedded in it, if they are greater than 100 KB in size. You can change this default to be more or less than 100 KB. When your presentation has linked files, you must copy the linked files as well as the presentation if you are going to be giving the presentation on another computer. If you do not want to have linked sounds at all in a presentation, then find out the size of the biggest sound file you are using, and change the 100 KB to be higher than the file size of that biggest sound file.
