Recovered MS Files Contains ASCII Characters
Hey guys whats the problem if a recovered files instead of containing alphabet characters contains ASCII characters?

It may be using a different font. Try highlighting everything and changing the font to one of the regular text fonts.

sorry but that didnt help.....when the file is open it first ask for a file convertion and has choice between windows defautlt, ms-dos and others. i tried some of them but none of them converted it to its original context.

I believe the File Convertion box provides a preview of the final result after the conversion; can you keep experimenting till you find which conversion will be the one necessary? I know from my experience that the conversion suggested automatically by Word is far from being spot-on; in my case with Greek encodings, typically Word suggests Korean or Japanese converters...
