Excel Macro question

Long story short, I've built an excel workbook with several macros in it (macros saved to workbook). It works just fine on my PC, but it won't work on any other PC. I've saved it to our server, I've emailed it to people in my office and no one can get it to work on their computers. What am I missing here?

Re: Excel Macro question

Hi and welcome to TSF.

If your users have never used an Excel macro before, then it's probably their security settings that's causing the problem. In Excel, go to Tool > Options > Security Tab > Macro Security. Chances are the setting is High (MS default) - change it to Medium and OK back out. If they then receive a pop up when opening your workbook asking to enable or disable macros, you're all set.

Re: Excel Macro question

Security was the initial problem, but I changed their security levels and got them in. But the macro still wouldn't work. I had a button for them to press and it would run the macro. They could press the button but nothing happened. I even went in and assigned the macro to the button on their computers and nothing. Finally decided to save it as a "Word Template" versus just a Word Document and now everyone can run the macros on their own PC. Don't know why, but it works that way. I will have them enter the data, run the macro and then save the results as it's own Word Document. Should work just fine.

Thanks for your help.
