Hi all, the choices all seemed to be canned and with uppercase or small caps style in the TOC, and i can't unribbon my mind around setting the style manually. I just want normal bold 11-point arial Inital caps, but all i see are styles like
modern, classic, etc...

Re: Help! I need to control the formatting of the Automatic TOC in Word 2007...
When you insert the TOC click the modify button. Then select the TOC level you want to modify and make the changes you want. Change to the font, select the font size, and do the basic formatting using the tools above the sample window.
Click the Format button and select font to change from AllCaps to normal (you will get whatever the heading is, so if the heading itself is in all caps, that's what you'll get). Use other options in the Format Button list to set your tabs and paragraph needs. Don't forget to save once you have the table of contents done. Otherwise you may loose all your cool settings. If you want to use these settings in all your future documents, then create an empty document with the settings you want and save it as a document template.
