URGENT: PPTVIEW in 2007? PP "Converting" on Save? Errors when packaging!!!??
Hi all, this is urgent. I have upgraded to Office 2007 (don't ever want to go back) and I had prepared a ppt in 2003, opened, edited and saved in compatibility mode, and now i want package to CD but get this error message:
Code:
Microsoft Office PowerPoint
One or more of your presentations contain macros, linked programs, linked objects, or embedded objects. They will not work in the PowerPoint
Viewer. Do you want to continue?
Here is another one: Code:
PowerPoint couldn't process the linked file cid:image001.gif@01C6FE9E.1D879330. Do you want to continue anyway? this project is over 500 slides and I don't have time for this. What could this possibly mean? Here is yet another one: Code:
PowerPoint couldn't process the linked file E:\My Media Work for Others\Unicef\Networking Meeting\MainShow_29th\REPORT.mp3. Do you want to continue anyway? So I go to the PresentationCD folder and open the folder...everything was there! (As far as I can tell). BUT, running the file using the installed viewer on the CD gives you this message: Code:
Opening "" Some hyperlinks may contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that this hyperlink is from a trustworthy source. Do you want to open this hyperlink? I used hyperlinks within the file to create link back to a table of contents/index. Oh lord now what. This worked 100% in v2003, and I am wondering if I need to go back to that version of PP. But I am also wondering if 2007 had ruined this file, as even though it says it's working in compatibility mode, I am not sure if I trust it at this point. Well, thanks for listening and perhaps clearing this mess up for me. I'm going to get drunk... BS in Nepal |

Well, i solved all these problems by unistalling PP2007, and installing PP2003, then redoing my simple text edits using a backup file.
*WARNING TO ALL* be carefull migrating pp files to v2007 if you have web links and macros. I don't think it works.

ps. the file size for this project in 2007 was 30% larger!?! oh well, back to working ribbon-less in 2003.
