I'm currently running Vista with MS Office 2007, also Word 2007.
There are a couple issues I'm having here that I didn't have with the old 2003 XP version. Neither are huge issues, but minor annoyances not present in the older version that I'd like to get rid of right now. 1. First, spell check isn't working right. I go to "Grammar & Spelling," then "Options," and even though I always have the box checked that says, "Check spelling as you type," I always have to go to that box/menu and exit out before I get those red lines under the misspelled words. Every time I exit out of the document and open it later, though, it doesn't check my spelling for me unless I return again to that same menu. How can I get it to do like on the old MS Word and automatically underline misspelled words in red without having to open up Grammar/Spelling every session? 2. Also, some of my Word documents are password-protected. Thankfully, I have no problems opening these up. The problem occurs, though, in that when I go to save, it always brings up a message asking me something about do I want stronger encryption protection. I click "No," and it leaves me alone every time I save from then on. But, whenever I exit out and return later another day, I have to endure that same message every time I save for the first time on such documents. How do I get that message to go away for good? And please let me know if either of these questions make no sense!

Re: 2 MS Word Questions
I have never run into any of these specific issues, but have you tried running a repair install of MS Office? You can do this from Add/Remove programs dialog by clicking Change in the Microsoft Office 2007 entry.

Re: 2 MS Word Questions
No, and in fact it is not even reinstalling Office, it is repairing it. The only thing it might do is create new start menu and desktop shortcuts.

Re: 2 MS Word Questions
You might want to try a reinstall. If that doesn't fix it, then it is probably a Vista issue.

Re: 2 MS Word Questions
I haven't had too much experience with Vista because the shop where I work never sells it, but I would take a guess and run this command:
Code:
sfc /scannow
