Outlook 2003 Problem
I just bought a new computer and loaded my copy of Office 2003 Pro on it. I exported my Outlook personal folders from my old PC to *.pst files on a removable thumb drive and then imported them into Outlook on my new pc. I closed Outlook and removed the thumb drive. When I tried to open Outlook again it would not open because the Calendar folder was being directed to a *.pst file on the thumb drive. When I put the thumb drive back into the PC, Outlook opens just fine.
Since I do not want to have to have this thumb drive in the PC all the time, I decided to un-install Office 2003 and reinstall it to start over. However, Outlook would not open without the thumb drive installed. When it opened, it had all of my settings in there, which I thought would be gone after un-installing. I would like to be able to run Outlook without having to use this thumb drive. Any ideas? Thank-you in advance for your help! |

Re: Outlook 2003 Problem
Copy the files from your thumbdrive to a folder on your hard drive (My Documents/Mail is a good place).
Next, right-click on the Outlook icon on the desktop and select properties (this should be the icon created during the install, not a regular shortcut). Here you can edit your profile to switch to the .pst files on your hard drive. |
