Excel Formula Help Please
How to make a cell obsolete???
I need to calculate, taking the figure from only one cell to be applied to the entire row. There is a way, can not remember it, I think I need to enter $ sign Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Hi
I think you mean absolute references. This is where the cell reference remains the same throughout, even after a copy and paste or drag and fill operation. You are correct about the use of the dollar sign. There are really 3 choices: $A$1 this is an absolute row and absolute column reference and will not change A$1 this is an absolute row but relative column reference - the column will change $A1 this is an absolute column but relative row reference - the row will change. Hope that helps.

Dear Friends, I need help to solve excel-problem-XP(OS)
If I enter a value(1-9) in a cell of saved file, it automatically change as 0 or blank.(Not only the particular file, it happends in all excell file created since one year back) Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks in advance Shanmugan V |
