[RESOLVED] Help - phantom user in MS Access Db holding up my billing [big problem]

Hello all...
I have an Access 97 Db that runs on a stand alone computer. I have been using the Db in its present configuration for over a year to do my billing. Today, when I attempt to change parameters in a query for this month's billing and then save the query, I get the following error message:

"The MS Jet Db engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."

There are no "other users." I'm it. Some other info... A backup from several days ago doesn't have this "problem." Changes are saved w/o problem. It's the most recent backup that refuses to save the changes. To the best of my knowledge, I haven't done anything to the Db. This is out of the blue. And, my billing is being held up. Need help fast. Thanks much.

...robert

Run the compact/repair from within Access.
This problem happened pretty often with Access 97 but less frequently with Access 2000, usually it's a memo field corruption.
