Suggest a name prob outlook 2003
I have a user that has this problem. When she opens Outlook and creates a new message and tries to begin typing in the name of a contact, Outlook doesn't automatically suggest the name she's typing. She has to manually enter the name, or select it from the global address book. Once she has sent a message to a user, Outlook will then "remember" the contact the next time she sends a message to them, but only if she leaves outlook open. Once she closes outlook, the same thing will happen the next time. Does that make sense? I've looked quite a bit online for a solution, but can't seem to find anything. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Suggest a name prob outlook 2003
Try all of these solutions if they apply to you.
Does your network have a single server that it is running off? if it does check the security settings and set them so general users can save files in other directorys than Documents or the main folders. If that doesnt work: try doing this with Admin privilages and see if it saves. Still doesnt work? Try renstalling Outlook 2003 on the computer, not the server and check if it lets you save then. Thats about all i know on outlook, i am sorry if none of this helps. No luck still!? This could be because Outlook 2003 did not have the same features that an older Outlook may have had (Outlook 2000) and therefore cannot perform that task. i take this from the assumption you are on W/2000.

Re: Suggest a name prob outlook 2003
It is Outlook 2003....works on other PC's we have with Outlook 2003.
I have tried ticking and unticking boxes. I can get to a point where it works but when I shut down outlook and reopen it I am back to stage one with no names being created. Can you go back to Outlook 2000 after installing Outlook 2003 ?? |

Re: Suggest a name prob outlook 2003
Do you still have the disks that came with the computer? Very strange that it works on other computers and not this one. Try re-installing Outlook 2003, that may solve a problem, but it will remove contacts and other stored information.
