Stuck In A Drop Down Box
can anybody tell me how I can widen a drop down box ( Excel ) so I can read the contents without having to widen the column

Hi Mick and welcome to TSF.
AFAIK you can't, assuming this is just a drop down from something like Data Validation? Embedded controls, fro the Control Toolbox can be adjusted to any size, but not the ones that are effectively part of the cell.
