Microsoft Word 2003

I am running windows XP sp2. I have had the microsoft office 2003 professional suite on my computer for awhile. When all of a sudden word is taking a long time to open.

Word is not opening properly this is what happens. When i click on word an installation box pops up. The top of the box says windows install, and inside it says preparing to install. This box is only present for about a second then it disapears. Next there is nothing on screen. The microsoft word box never comes up.(while loading word you normally get that small squar box in the middle of your screen that never appears). Then after about 30-40 seconds word opens and works fine.

Why is this happening. It should open in about 10 seconds and the loading box should appear. And the installation box is a mystery to me.

I have already tried to uninstall office and reinstall it. I installed the complete program so i shouldn't be missing any compenent that would need to be installed. And all the other components of office open correctly and in a normal time frame. Which includes Publisher, Powerpoint, Infopath, Excel, and Acess.

Re: Microsoft Word 2003

Actually sounds as though your AV may be set to scan each document before opening. Check your AV settings and turn off any document scan.
