Excel Help shows xml

Hello
I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 installed on my computer.
My problem is in Excel. When I open it up and click on the "?" icon at the top right of the screen, it opens up showing script.

i click on the "search" tab and go to "all excel" and it works fine. But the default is on "Excel Help" at the bottom of the tab. How do I get it to work normally? Thank you

Hi and welcome to TSF.

It sounds as though the Help files have not been properly installed. If you have the Office CD, insert it and choose "Repair" from the options that appear.

Yes. I tried a repair. Then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

OK - is there still an Office Assistant in 2007? (I'm using Office XP). When I click the "?" it brings up the OA.

No there is no Office Assitant in 2007, that I can find.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps there are parts of the install that haven't been installed. A bit like the various options you have when installing Windows. Did you do a Custom install or just the standard install? Might be worth checking the install options and see if there are any other options available.
