Publisher 2003 !!!PICTURES DO NOT DISPLAY!!!

I am currently running windows xp and office 2003 on my computer and in the past couple of weeks I started having a problem with publisher. After I create a publication and save it, the next time I go to open it all of the pictures that I added to the document are invisible. I can still see the borders of the pictures and if I print they still show up the way they were originally placed in the document. The only way I have found to make the picture re viewable is if I resize the entire Publisher window and the pictures will reappear until I edit them and then they are gone again unless I continually resize the main window.

I have tried everything I can think of from repairing Microsoft office to changing the picture formats, but nothing seems to work if anybody has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. If worse comes to worse I will just delete Microsoft office and reinstall it, but I am hoping for an easier solution.

Thank You
