Confused Powerpoint to TV from Dell Inspiron 1100

I have an old Dell Inspiron 1100 notebook with XP, and I have Office 2003 on it. I've used powerpoint a number of times, but I don't have much experience with the setup of powerpoint to an outside monitor or projector from any machine -- always plugging into previous setups. I also have very little experience finding and installing my own drivers successfully.

I want to project my own ppt show to TV screens from my own laptop and have been unable to do so on several attempts. There's not much out there on Inspiron 1100 anymore, so I don't know what components or setup may be missing.

Does anyone have some direction or advice?
Thanks,
dbsawyer

How are you connecting to the TV? Have you tried the function buttons?

Re: Powerpoint to TV from Dell Inspiron 1100

I just wanted to add that I am also having a similar problem. I'm trying to hook my dell inspiron up to a tv through svideo. This tv isn't an LCD, but it still has 4 pin svideo port. I tried using just a regular svideo cord and then noticed that this laptop's svideo port looks like it needs a 7 pin cord. I went out and bought a cord that goes from 7 pin to 4 pin, and yet it still doesn't work. I've tried using the function buttons but still nothing works. Can anyone help me?
