I don't want My Documents to go automatically to the end of the alphabet
When I open Word, and click OPEN, I am shown all the files at the END of the alphabet. I want it to show me the files at the BEGINNING of the alphabet. How can I teach it to do this?

Re: I don't want My Documents to go automatically to the end of the alphabet
No. I have a lot of folders which take up more than one display screen, and when I click OPEN (file) it sort of runs quickly to the END of the alphabet and shows the last folders - and all the files that aren't in folders. I just want to see the first ones - the first part of the alphabet... Sorry; it's hard to explain these things clearly.

Re: I don't want My Documents to go automatically to the end of the alphabet
Well... I didn't quite understand that. For one thing, I'm dealing with Word in Spanish...
I assume when you say the "Open Files" window you're just referring to what comes up when you press the little picture of a manila folder - of a file - or when you select "OPEN" from the column under Files. Then there's a little icon which says "Vista" which changes the layout, and one of the "Views" is what I think you mean by "Details". If I click on "Name", None of the possible layouts starts at the beginning of the alphabet! I get a list that starts with "A" and one that starts with "Z", but both scroll down to the end of the list and show the last files in the list first. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Haha. I got a bit carried away. I hate this kind of user-unfriendly insane and inexplicable stuff. Why would the programmers think that I want to see the end of the list first? Actually, with the alphabet beginning with "A" option, it doesn't roll down to the end of the list; it goes kind of to the middle, where the folders stop and the files without folders begin. I despair. What am I to do? I want to see the FIRST items FIRST. Is that too much to ask? Microsoft - are you listening? Bill? Did you let this detail slip by; did some idiot on your staff think I'd want to see the last items first? Or am I the idiot and there's some simple option I'm not aware of? No offense intended. Unless you're the person who... oh, never mind... |
